After some consideration I actually started to think it might be a cute way to express my love of my kitten Bill. Recently I splashed out and bought myself a new digital camera, it’s one of those fancy DSLR types with the separate removable lens. Although I also own a small point and shoot camera, I wanted to learn how to take more artistic style photos and in particular get more into nature photography. I came across some amazing Tasmanian landscape photography while searching for tips on how to use my camera, and since the wilderness area where I live has a similar climate I’m hoping that, with a bit of practice, I’ll be able to take my own photos of the same calibre. The only problem I’m finding right now is that the camera and associated gear is a bit bulky to carry when hiking to the best locations. I might have to buy a special padded bag to carry it all in for protection, just in case I slip over. I wouldn’t want to fall and damage the camera because I saved for ages to buy it and I’d be so heartbroken if anything happened to it.

Georgia O’Keefe’s has been my mentor for many years. Through studying her work and learning about her, I have been able to progress as a flowers canvas art painter and as a human being. I was a young women in art school when I first learned of her. I had never heard of her, nor seen her work until after one of my peers said my work looked like hers. I remember that I was using watercolors to paint gigantic flowers on watercolor paper. After this, I wanted to learn who this artist was and about her work, when I did I was fascinated by both. The fact that she had the courage to follow her heart in her art as well as her life encouraged me to do the same. Because of her, I became a better artist and a more interesting person. No longer did I copy others either in my art or as a person. The greatest highlight of those years was when I went to New Mexico and spent time in Georgia O’Keefe Country.
