I know that my wife is close to having our baby. She is about eight months pregnant, and I forgot to buy one important thing for our baby to be. I had to go to the shopping mall to buy child car seat. Since my wife did not walk out all that day, she wanted to come along to get a little of the daily exercise that her doctor told her to get on a daily basis. I let her come along with me to the shopping mall. We checked out a store with a huge baby department. Well, I found out where the child car seats were located. She really liked my choice when she got to see it.

It had only been a year since I got married. I was married to a wonderful man who was very loving and caring. He was a vey nice man. I was really Creasy about him. I soon bake pregnant. My husband decided to decorate a room for the new baby. He wanted to get it done before the baby arrived. I supported his decision. I knew that he would do the right thing for my baby. Since we did not have a lot of money he did the smart thing and got some discount childrens furniture. It was really well built and designed. I knew that it would last us for many years. I could even pass it on to other people once my child grew up. I have heard that they grow really fast. I am very excited about having a baby. I know that we will be great parents. I am very happy.

Challenges of the Pregnancy Experience During Deployment

I was five months pregnant with our second child when my husband deployed to Haiti in support of Operation Uphold Democracy. My nearest family was thirteen hours away and the idea of having my baby alone was overwhelming. In my home country, pregnancy is a well-catered-to event – I could buy anything from plus size belly bands to anti-sickness teas there. Not in Haiti though! Things got even more difficult when the doctor put me on partial bed rest due to complications with the pregnancy. The restrictions made it very hard to care for my two year old son, so I packed up some bags and made the long trip to my mother’s home. It was a huge relief to have the love and support of my family around me, but I still missed my husband and hoped that somehow he would be part of the delivery. I tried to help him feel involved by sending ultrasound photos, pregnancy pictures and letters. His phone calls were short because many soldiers were waiting to use the phones, but after several tries we were able to decide on a name for our baby. We had both resigned ourselves to the idea of being apart during the delivery when we got the news that I had been praying for. The deployment was ending ahead of schedule and he was going to be home two weeks before my due date. He was right beside me, holding my hand when our child was born. I think that we both appreciated the moment so much more after nearly missing it.
