Sports Facts to Share with Friends
Dec 13th
Sports at every level of play is amazingly popular in the United States and whether it’s a little league team busting out the home runs during the Little League World Series or it’s the professional players of the World Series battling it out at the end of baseball season, there is an amazing number of interesting facts about sports that people have collected over the years. For example, there are only two days each year where not a single professional sports game occurs and those days are the day before and the day after the Major League All-Star Game.
And regarding baseball, there are only seven teams in all of the four major professional sports (which include baseball, hockey, football and basketball) whose nicknames don’t end in an S and they include two baseball teams: The Boston Red Sox and the Chicago White Sox. Interestingly, there are no professional football teams whose nicknames don’t end in an S. It wasn’t until 1986 that a designated hitter actually had the initials “DH” and that was when Danny Heep who played in the World Series as a designated hitter with those initials.
As for home runs and baseball, the number of feet covered by record setter Mark McGuire’s 1998 season where he hit seventy home runs was 29,598 feet. And the total of those home runs traveled far enough to fly over Mount Everest. Much earlier in baseball, famous player Babe Ruth paid a fan just twenty dollars to return a baseball that he hit for his seven hundredth career home run.
How to Watch Youth Soccer
Oct 1st
For some parents, the best way to watch youth soccer is with their eyes closed. It’s true, I’m not being sarcastic. Have you ever watched a kids soccer match ? At times, the screaming and the yelling borders on abuse. How are the kids expected to have fun when they are continually bombarded with abuse?
The second best way to watch youth soccer is in silence. Watch the game and if you cannot refrain from yelling or screaming, don’t say anything. If you have the need to scream, scream encouragement not abuse. Become their biggest cheerleader and your children will reap the benefits and perform better.
After all, that little guy running after the ball on the green pastures is your flesh and blood. Remember that little guy you fed, burped, changed the dipers and loved. That’s right, it’s still the same guy, that little guy you’re yelling abuse to is your son. Wake up and put things into perspective.

Youth Football Plays- Shotgun Spread Pass Offense- Double Cross
Sep 26th
The first of three youth football plays we want to look at for our Spread Flex Wk scheme versus man coverage is the Double Cross. This passing concept you will find in other spread formations and pretty much works the same as we are about to show in this write-up. The HB and SL2 (A) both cross each other. If man coverage is called, the defenders will generally run into each other. If they don’t, they may just switch who they are covering. This allows the HB or SL2 to get open. The only pre-snap adjustment we make is to hot route the FL on a streak. We do this to clear room for the HB as he runs his route to the right side of the field. In the screenshot, the HB and SL2 are about to cross. The two defenders switch. When they do this, they lose a few steps on the receivers they are covering. We throw a bullet pass to the HB. We make the catch and have plenty of room to run down the field.
Buying Guide to Goalkeepers Gloves
Jan 3rd
Size: Gloves sizes are numeric similar to shoe sizes. However, one should note that sizing is different for different brands and the best way to check the fit is to try them on, otherwise it’ll be very difficult to buy the desired pair.
Fit: One should ensure that the gloves fit snugly but not too tightly as it may restrict the finger movements. Some types of cuts available are flat, gunn, negative cut, precurved and hybrid cuts.
Three types of closures available are bandage, elastic and slit wrist and the goalie should choose the one that is best suited for him.
Finger Protection: Companies have designed simple to complicated systems to be included in their gloves. This ensures that no damage will result to fingers while handling the ball.
Glove Body: Different Goalkeeper Gloves are available for different weather conditions. Fleece, latex, mesh, synthetic waterproof materials are some of the available options.
These should help one to choose good gloves.
Youth Baseball Cleats And Why They Are Used
Jun 16th
Baseball is known to be America’s national past time. We see toddlers playing baseball in places like the Little League in the hopes of following the footsteps of previous great players like Michael Vick or maybe someone like David Wright. The most basic equipment would perhaps be footwear or shoes. In baseball the shoes are called cleats (similar to the ones used in soccer-football) you have Youth Baseball Cleats for toddlers since these shoes have cleat pieces which stick out at the bottom to help keep the player from losing their footing. A kid should wear youth baseball cleats custom made for them since (obviously) they can’t wear cleats made for grown men. With the right footwear make sure they also have all the other right equipment as well, like gloves made by Neumann™ to make sure that they are ready to play well and relatively worry free in the baseball field.
